Marshall Choral Society
Creating joy through music.
The Marshall Choral Society was incorporated in May of 2023, and shortly thereafter, we received our 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt status. In July of 2023, we started recruiting through advertisements in our local newspaper, the Ad-visor, and soon began receiving applications from prospective choir members. Our first rehearsal was conducted in September of 2023, and we were overwhelmed by the turnout and level of talent. Rehearsals were held weekly throughout the fall in preparation of our inaugural winter concert, “Wonders of the Season,” which was performed on December 10, 2023. The headline that followed in the Ad-visor review article said it all, “‘Wonders of the Season’ Bedazzles Sold-Out Crowd!” It was a wonderful event that exceeded all expectations.
The choir continues to develop and improve as members interact at rehearsals. New friendships and bonds are forming as the experience of singing together becomes more meaningful. The First Presbyterian Church of Marshall graciously provides us rooms for rehearsals and a beautiful historic sanctuary for our concerts.
The Marshall Choral Society is forever fortunate and grateful for the support we’ve been shown by our community and local businesses and organizations. On behalf of our choir members, our volunteers, our artistic director - Dr. Laura Gilbertson, our accompanist - Russell Gates, and our board of directors, thank you so very much!
