2024 Marshall Community Foundation Grant

In late March, the Marshall Community Foundation graciously awarded the Marshall Choral Society (MCS) with a $20,000 grant.

“We are beyond ecstatic to receive such an incredible level of support. This grant will enable us to move forward in ways that we had only dreamed possible,” said Martha Dobbins, MCS Board of Directors president.

Jennifer London, program officer, grant management and youth advisory council for the foundation, presented the grant award to the MCS Board of Directors, Artistic Director Dr. Laura Gilbertson, and choir members at an acknowledgement dinner on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. As the choir circled around the piano to take a picture with the award, their joy was contagious.

To the Marshall Community Foundation, Dobbins said, “You have changed the life of this community choir. Again, we thank you for your support and belief in MCS.”

“The foundation seeks to support start-up initiatives that make our community a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family,” said London. “It is because of our generous donors that we are able to support organizations such as the Marshall Choral Society.”

“Music expands our scope of communication as people, and it allows us to color a mood for the day and spread happiness,” said Dr. Gilbertson. “Our choir has been embraced by the Marshall community through generous donations, partnerships, and the Marshall Community Foundation grant.
